The Compassion by Design Process

The community needs assessment process helps build teams, connect with communities with coaching and technology support.

Preparation

  • We start with a leadership meeting to frame the process, and to establish the reach and focus of the assessment.
  • Partnership and leaders are identified.
  • Technology is configured and public outreach begins.
  • Appointments/ surveys are scheduled and community insights are collected.

Assessment

  • The process begins with a training for team members and any community partners.
  • A variety of appointments, surveys and/or focus groups are completed
  • A debrief meeting gathers the impressions and impacts of the  days interactions.
  • Church leaders plan for follow-up interviews for targeted community focus areas.
  • Virtual meeting tools can be used for the process.

Follow-up

  • Input from all sources is compiled in preparation for sharing.
  • Team members and leadership get a sneak preview of the information.
  • A public briefing may be provided. 
  • Focus areas for service are solidified for future service.
  • New partnerships are established provide access to community leaders and service opportunities.

What can you expect to result from the Compassion by Design Process?

Team Building and Compassion

Your team members and volunteer leaders will become closer and more confident in their relationships and leadership. Team members will have a heightened sense of compassion and awareness about their community.

Relationships

Your entire team will make new connections, opening new relationships and opportunities to be engaged in people's lives. The doors for service and cooperation will be open in new ways with community partners. Leadership relationships will begin between church and community leaders.

Community Position

The identity of the church will be established with the belief that your church is in-fact committed to the community. Opportunities for relational service will become available beyond just project opportunities and the church will be viewed as more of a community insider.

Externally Focused Values

The development of externally focused values and a deeper understanding of the role of the church in the bigger redemption plan will be inserted into the formative values of the launch team and those who join the church as it grows.
