Crash Course on Careers for Ministry Leaders

With the unemployment rate as high as I ever seen it, ministries that are helping people have to deal with job loss and career issues.  The best people  that I know to help you are offering a phone conference on June 27th.  I was trained by Worknet a number of years ago and have yet to see another approach to career growth from a ministry perspective that will touch what they have to offer.  I encourage you to check out what they are doing if you want to equip people to get and keep a healthy career (not just a JOB).    This approach works with all income levels and all age levels, I have used it with a broad variety of people– many in significant need.

My first experience with this approach was as I was ushered into a room of people fresh from a local rescue mission.  I was there as a trainer, but I didn’t think for a minute that anyone in the room could get a job, let alone a career direction.  I participated for two weeks in amazement as person after person caught a vision of their future and a new sense of faith.  The people that I thought were hopeless cases, actually did networking and effective job search right in front of my eyes.   I went from thinking that Christians should have nothing to do with career development to becoming a practioner, and seeing the same effect on more “hopeless” cases in my own community.

(Please forgive that this sounds like a shameless plug, but I just know that this approach works–and I don’t get anything for sharing about it other than greater impact in your ministry.)
